RICARDO FELIPE is an independent designer and publisher with twenty years of design and cultural industry experience.

Former positions include graphic designer at the National Art School, Art Gallery of NSW and Penguin Books (Lantern imprint) in Sydney, and publications manager at the Institute of Modern Art in Brisbane. Between 2006 and 2014, he designed and developed the branding and corporate identity of Artspace Visual Arts Centre, as well as designing over twenty Artspace publications. Other recent and past clients include the Ian Potter Museum of Art, NewSouth, Artbank, University Art Gallery at The University of Sydney, Japan Foundation and the Powerhouse Museum (MAAS).

From 2006 to 2010 Ricardo was the Sydney sales rep for books@manic, the Melbourne-based distributor of books on contemporary culture, specialising in architecture, art and design. In 2015, he worked as a bookseller at Architext Bookshop in Potts Point.

Following on the success of his award-winning book Avalon: Art & Life of an Apartment Building (Museum of Brisbane, 2005), he began Emblem Books producing titles on contemporary art. Omo Books is a new imprint dedicated to the work of queer thinkers, writers and image-makers.

He is now editing and designing Architecture Bulletin at the NSW Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects, as well as continuing his freelance graphic design.
